We are invited to share "the things of our soul" by Elder Rasband. Did you accept his invitation to share the things of your soul with others?

In his talk on October 2nd in General Conference, Elder Rasband takes us on a small journey of his exploration to the spiritual meaning of the word "things." From a casual perspective, it is an unimportant and ordinary word. But he shows us how the word "things" is used in the scriptures by prophets and God to denote deeply spiritual experiences.

After quoting Second Nephi "Behold my soul delighteth in the things of the Lord and my heart pondereth continually upon the things which I have seen and heard," Elder Rasband posits, "Nephi's words raise the questions: what things do you Ponder? What things really matter to you? What are the things of your soul?"

"All things in Christ and the things of my soul are what this church, this gospel, and this people are all about. I close with an invitation for each of you to consider the 7 Things of my soul I have shared today.

1. Love God the Father and Jesus Christ Our Savior

2. Love your neighbor

3. Love yourself

4. Keep the Commandments

5. Always be worthy of a temple recommend

6. Be joyful and cheerful

7. Follow God's living prophet

"I invite you to identify your own 8, 9 and 10. Consider ways you might share your heartfelt things with others and encourage them to pray, ponder and seek the Lord's guidance.

"These things strengthen our service in the church and in all areas of life, they commit us to Jesus Christ, they remind us of our covenants, and they help us feel secure in the arms of the Lord.

"I testify that he desires that our souls shall never hunger nor thirst but shall be filled with his love as we seek to become his true disciples."

Elder Rasband gave a distinct invitation for us to find and share 3 things of our soul. Consider taking time to prayfully reflect on past meaningful experiences that have uplifted your soul and strengthened your testimony. Elder Rasband connects remembering these things with a stronger desire to serve others, keep our covenants, and feel closer to the Lord.

I plan to prayerfully consider 3 things of my soul and write them down. When I have finished, I will share them on the forum. I would love for you to share yours also!
